Plain-language information about what Hoop Shot processes, why it is needed and the choices available to you.

1. Who we are

Hoop Shot is developed and operated by Marcos Oliva ("Hoop Shot", "we", "us"). For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@playhoopshot.com. For product assistance, visit Hoop Shot Support.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the Hoop Shot mobile application, its online ranking and live-content services, and this website. It does not cover Apple, Google, Unity or other services operating under their own privacy policies.

3. Information processed

Information stored on your device

Game settings, accessibility choices, tutorial state, coins, cosmetic ownership and equipment, missions, local performance history, rewarded-ad history when available, and purchase entitlement state are stored locally. On iOS, anonymous ranking credentials and refresh tokens are stored in Keychain.

Anonymous online player account

When online rankings are enabled, the app creates a random guest account through Amazon Cognito. We do not require your name, email address, phone number or social login. The account has a pseudonymous internal identifier used to authenticate scores and retrieve personal bests.

Rankings and competition

For ranked modes we process the score, shots taken and made, round duration, game mode, fixed competitive rules and version, competition identifier, difficulty eligibility, submission identifier and timestamp. Public leaderboards show a generated alias, score and performance values; they do not expose the internal account identifier.

Diagnostics and product analytics

We process random session and event identifiers, sanitized gameplay event names and numeric counters, app and Unity versions, operating-system platform, current scene and mode, graphics quality tier, frame-time statistics, approximate app memory usage, and hashed error fingerprints. Event context rejects email addresses, usernames, tokens, device identifiers, URLs and raw sensor terminology. We do not upload raw accelerometer values, gyroscope values, device attitude samples or motion traces.

Camera, augmented reality and motion controls

Camera access is used only when you choose augmented-reality play. Camera frames, detected planes and raw motion-sensor readings are processed on your device to place the hoop, stabilize the view and recognize dribble and shot gestures. Hoop Shot does not upload or store camera images, video, spatial maps, raw accelerometer readings or raw gyroscope readings.

Purchases

Apple processes payment details and App Store transactions. Hoop Shot receives the product identifier, transaction status, an App Store receipt or receipt-derived hash, and entitlement information needed to deliver or restore a purchase. We do not receive your complete payment-card details. Raw receipts are not sent to the Hoop Shot ranking service.

Support correspondence

If you contact us, we process your email address, message, attachments you choose to send, and technical information you include. Do not send passwords, payment-card information or unnecessary sensitive data.

Website and network delivery

This static website sets no advertising or analytics cookies. AWS and network providers may process standard connection data such as IP address, request time and security metadata to deliver and protect the website and app services.

4. Why we process information

  • Provide gameplay, guest authentication, rankings, purchases, restoration and remote cosmetic content.
  • Maintain fair competition, prevent abuse and secure the service.
  • Diagnose failures, measure performance and improve controls and accessibility.
  • Answer support, privacy and legal requests.
  • Comply with law, App Store requirements and valid legal process.

Where applicable under European data-protection law, these purposes rely on performance of the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Hoop Shot, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent where consent is required.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We use Amazon Web Services for authentication, APIs, rankings, diagnostics logs, live configuration, support-email storage and static content delivery. Apple provides App Store distribution, purchases, device platform services and ARKit. Unity provides the game engine, purchasing integration and related runtime components.

Firebase Analytics and Unity LevelPlay advertising are included as optional integrations but are disabled in the current production configuration. We will update this policy and apply required consent controls before enabling collection through either service. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose limited information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

6. Retention

Local game data remains until you reset or remove it or uninstall the app, subject to platform backup behavior. Anonymous account and all-time ranking records remain while needed to operate rankings or until a valid deletion request is completed. Daily ranking records are scheduled to expire after approximately 120 days and weekly records after approximately 400 days. Operational diagnostic logs are normally retained for 30 days. Support emails are automatically scheduled for deletion after 730 days. Legal, fraud-prevention or security obligations may require a longer period.

7. Your choices and rights

You can play the rendered court without granting camera access. You can change camera permission in system settings, choose advertising privacy preferences before ads are enabled, restore eligible purchases, and stop online processing by playing offline where supported.

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email privacy@playhoopshot.com. We may ask for the app version, a support identifier or other limited information to locate the correct anonymous account. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

8. International transfers and security

Providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards. We use encrypted transport, private encrypted storage, access controls, pseudonymous accounts, input validation, rate limits and restricted operational logs. No system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Hoop Shot is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required for independent consent in their country. We do not knowingly request a child's name or contact details. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information should contact us for deletion.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when features, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date will be revised, and material changes will be communicated in the app or store listing when appropriate.
